How well do you know your Best Friend? Very well am sure, but how well do we know our Sparkly Best Friends... Diamonds?? There are just so many things about diamonds that we know nothing about, and hence when I was invited to the Forevermark Diamond Master Class to learn about our 'gem' of a friend I naturally jumped at the offer.
Like all women, I too aspire to own and want diamonds. The more the merrier, right? Diamonds, to me, have always been connected with memories and milestones. Like the first diamond I bought for myself, the engagement ring my husband proposed to me with, or the 10 carat stone that we all desire!! It's time we educate ourselves about these glistening stones, from whom and how we purchase our little precious ones.
We Indians always buy jewelry from our family, trusted jeweler. We rely on the trust that is formed along the years only through association and personal experience. Just like we visit our 'family doctor' for all medical advice, we all have a 'family jeweler' who attends to all our weddings and supplies all the J too!! Up until now I took for granted, that just knowing about the 4 Cs (Cut, Carat, Color, Clarity) I had done my Ph.D in diamonds. My complacent bubble of knowledge was popped and I was taken by surprise as to how much we DON'T know. I didn't know it was important to know where our diamonds are sourced from and whether we are buying an untreated, natural diamond. Forevermark educated us about their diamonds, informing us that each of their diamonds are responsibly sourced and goes through a journey of rigorous selection. When buying bags, shoes and clothes, we source 'brands' that are known for quality so why not do the same when buying our jewelry? Each Forevermark diamond has a unique inscription number which is an assurance that every diamond is beautiful, rare and responsibly sourced. The inscription is not visible to the naked eye and can only be seen with a special viewer available at trusted Forevermark jewelers. Although, every diamond comes with its own inscription card and grading certificate ensuring that your diamond is the 'Best'.
For me everything is trust. I believe in the book philosophy of 'The Secret' and I try to imbibe as much of it into my daily life. I believe in trust and trusting others, I believe in the Forevermark Promise and The Circle Of Trust they have created with sparkling diamond bangles as truly their Diamonds are Forever!!
This event was in the middle of my work day, so I showed up in my corporate wear. I was wearing a black jacket dress and layered it with a silk blouse tied into a pussy bow to add just the right amount of the girly touch, my most trusted bronze bag (since we on the topic of trust) and my animal print shoes.
I once again would like to express my gratitude to you guys for reading my blog and I promise 'to keep it as real and fun for you guys!! 'Trust' you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoy writing them.
